GEDCOM to WWW Utilities

Helpful utilities that convert the standard genealogy file format known as GEDCOM to web pages (i.e. HTML files) that be posted to the World Wide Web.

GED2WWW - http://www.lesandchris.com/ged2www/

Command line based utility, not recommended for computer or web novices.   The utility asks a series of questions and then generates an "index" home page which has links to a series of family groups.  This utility is completely free.

GED2WEB - http://www.wtoram.co.uk/ged2web/ged2web.htm

Very basic Windows based utility.  Web pages show a family group style page that also includes an ancestor tree and descendant report.  Also generates a master surname index.  This utility is free, but can pay a shareware fee to remove "unregistered" statements from each generated page.

GED4WEB - http://www.ged4web.com/

Windows based utility that generates an "index" home page that provides a surname index to several different ways of viewing your data - including family pages, pedigree pages, note pages, and descendancy pages.  This utility is free, but can pay a shareware fee to remove "unregistered" statements from each generated page.

GEDBrowser - http://misbach.org/gedbrowser/

Windows based utility that generates a series of ancestor trees and includes a "map" home page.  This utility is free, but can pay a shareware fee to remove "unregistered" statements from each generated page.

GEDPage - http://www.frontiernet.net/~rjacob/gedpage.htm

Basic Windows utility that generates a series of family group style pages.  It's supposed to generate a home page but failed to do so.  This utility is free, but can pay a shareware fee to remove "unregistered" statements from each generated page.

Genealogy Site Builder - http://www.bargeron.com/software/gsb/index.htm

Basic Windows utility that generates a series of family group style pages.  This utility is shareware, it seems to work fine but you can pay a shareware fee to remove "unregistered" statements from each generated page.
